Face packs for dry skin: Before using facial packs, it is necessary to wash the face with lukewarm water. Some people opt for steam bath so as to feel refreshed. It also helps to open the pores of the skin. It is important not to use water to prepare facial packs. Rose water can be added to the ingredients to make home made packs. Banana mask is quite ideal for dry skin types. Mix one tablespoon of honey to half portion of mashed banana and mix it well. Add two tablespoon of curd to the mixture. Mix the paste to a thick consistency and apply it on to the face. Keep the mask for 15 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Another fruit pack that keeps the skin glowing is the Papaya mask. It is quite simple to prepare as it requires only papaya. Mash the papaya pieces and apply it on to the face. Keep the mask for 15-20 minutes and wash it off with lukewarm water.

Face packs for oily skin: Facial masks for oily skin can be made with apple, tomato and potato. Fruit cream masks can also be applied on oily skin types to attain a natural glow and softness. Apple mask can be made by mashing half an apple. It should then be mixed with two tablespoons of curd and one spoon of lime juice. Apply the mask for 15 minutes and wash it with lukewarm water.

Tomato mask can be made by mixing tomato juice with flour. Water need not be added to the mixture. Apply the mask onto the skin and let it stay for 15 minutes. Wash it off with lukewarm water and experience a soft and glowing skin.

Any type of facial masks can be applied to normal skin types. Milk, curd, fruit juices, herbal extracts and so forth can be used on normal skin to achieve best results. Facial packs can be altered according to the seasonal changes.

In addition to fruit masks, vegetable masks can also be applied onto the face and neck to retain beauty and healthy skin. Cucumber facial is another effective facial treatment that leaves the skin silky smooth and refreshed. Herbal facial packs are also widely used by most of the people.
